About the role

The Products and Platforms team sits within NHS England’s Transformation Directorate and is responsible for building and maintaining c.150 digital products and services for patients, clinicians, and the general public. These include large user base services such as the NHS App (30+ million users) and services essential to the NHS such as the NHS Service Finder which gives health and care professionals a fast way to access accurate, real-time information to help signpost patients to available services.

The Wayfinder programme was set up to enable and empower people to take greater control of their elective care journey, and save the NHS hundreds of millions of pounds by improving outcomes, personalising care, and improving NHS productivity and efficiency. The programme provides the functionality to access, validate and amend secondary care referrals and appointments alongside accessing additional information about their secondary care i.e. wait times, documents and questionnaires through Patient Engagement Portals (PEPs) via the NHS App.
