The Informatics Delivery Programme Head is a brand new exciting role that has emerged given the increase in demand for information standards project, programme and portfolio delivery.  The portfolio is diverse in terms of technologies, standards, stakeholders and levels of engagement with the NHS and professional groups.  It is a great opportunity to join one of the most dynamic and rapidly changing fields in digital health.

The role could either be based in Leeds or London.

As an Informatics Delivery Programme Head you will be responsible for:

  • Leading the delivery portfolio covering predominantly focused terminology products (e.g. SNOMED CT, dm+d) and their implementation in the NHS.
  • Providing leadership to the team with spanning responsibility for leading projects, programmes, work packages or workstreams in their portfolio.
  • Maintaining and developing the function to enable information Standards implementation which will include the following (list not exhaustive):
 the implementation of Key NHSX standards initiatives on clinical Terminology, Pathology requesting and reporting standards
-  Interoperable Medicines
-  coordinating engagement and support with the MOD’s Defence Medical Services
-  delivering transformation work on the Organisation Data Service and lead the engagement and cross-organisational work for NHS Digital on clinical reporting standards for Genomics laboratory hub work

About You

Some of the key skills and experience you'll bring:  

  • Knowledge of the international terminology and classifications standards landscape (e.g. for dm+d, SNOMED CT, ICD-10/11) including standards not currently used nationally in the UK (like ICHI, UCUM, LOINC, etc)
  • In-depth professional knowledge in a range of disciplines e.g. financial management, performance management, information systems
  • Experience of delivering value driven, medium size programmes (/implementations) in a complex operating environment.
  • Ability to manage complex stakeholder networks and expectations at senior levels.
  • Proven extensive knowledge and leadership in delivering standards-related informatics initiatives in at least one specialist field (e.g. Pharmacy, Mental Health, Nursing, Primary Care, Emergency Care, Pathology, Public Health, etc)
  • Experience of establishing and operating programme governance to facilitate delivery, risk management, assurance and stakeholder involvement.
