About The Role

We’re looking for an exceptional comms professional to join the communications network flex team at NHS Digital. This is a distinct, flexible and multi-skilled part of the communications directorate providing strategic comms advice and support to NHS Digital’s programmes. Our flex team work alongside our specialist colleagues in media, internal communications, content and creative, events and research.

Our multi-million pound national programmes, products and services are improving lives through data and technology; it’s an exciting organisation to be a part of. This role flexes across multiple projects and programmes, getting involved in everything from product development to cyber, live services to data.

We are currently moving to a hybrid working model where some of your week will be spent at home and some at our brand new offices in Leeds city centre.

You are communications generalist with specialised knowledge grounded in practical experience across multiple channels.  You have experience of developing communication plans to support business objectives, taking ownership of their delivery from start to finish. Your written and verbal skills are exemplary and you’re comfortable providing advice and support to senior leaders in a complex environment.

You’ll be developing, delivering and commissioning a broad range of activities alongside activity management and communications planning. A natural relationship builder, collaborator and problem solver you’re comfortable working autonomously whilst also being a first-rate team player.

About You

  • Experience of developing communication plans to support business objectives, and taking ownership of their delivery from start to finish.
  • Experience of working with other communications and marketing practitioners in a multi-channel environment, with exposure to and involvement in the creation of campaigns.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills: able to provide clear communication materials for internal and external channels, adapting your style and tone for different audiences.
  • Ability to work closely with senior leaders to provide professional communications advice and guidance.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate activity across a range of areas and gather analytics.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
