NHS Digital’s Platforms Directorate is at the heart of designing the core infrastructure that connects the thousands of digital service providers across the UK’s health and care system. This role provides an exciting opportunity to support our vision to deliver a user-centred modern platform approach to our products and services.
This role will be working within the Staff and Citizen Identity Pillar within the Platforms Directorate.
This role will sit in the Staff Identity team providing trusted digital identity verification, administration and management of services (to GPG 45 High) for health and care staff. This is used to authorise and strongly audit access to health and care data systems, including GPG44 High compliant access via smartcards. Staff Identity provides an Advanced Electronic Signature (AES) capability to allow strong digital signing of electronic prescriptions.

Our Lead Product Managers:
- Lead product direction across a portfolio of products or services, ensuring they meet user needs and deliver strategic outcomes
- Build an operating environment that supports product teams to continually deliver effectively
- Work with senior stakeholders to agree strategic priorities and respond to emerging needs
As a Lead Product Manager you will:
- Represent Product Management practice at a senior level within your business area, providing strong, decisive and visible product leadership
- Act as an initial point of escalation for key product decisions for your product portfolio, providing leadership, autonomy, support and direction
- Support Product Managers to ensure every product or service has a clear vision with objectives aligned to the real needs of users and the mission of the organisation
- Ensure teams have appropriate and relevant performance and success measures in place (e.g. Key Performance Indicators, Objectives & Key Results etc.)
- Work with programmes and the wider organisational leadership to ensure that product or service vision and goals are aligned
- Ensure that relevant key stakeholders and delivery partners are included, work with them is well coordinated and that new partnership opportunities are evaluated
