About the role

NHS Digital is the national information and technology provider for the health and care system.  Our growing team of 2,700+ information analysis, technology and project management experts create, deliver and manage the crucial digital systems, services, products and standards upon which health and care professionals depend, working in partnership with both national and local organisations.

We’re growing and are looking for a Lead Product Manager to join our Platforms directorate:

NHS Digital’s Platforms Directorate is at the heart of designing the core infrastructure that connects the thousands of digital service providers across the UK’s health and care system.  This role provides an exciting opportunity to support our vision to deliver a user-centred modern platform approach to our products and services.

This role will be working within the Staff and Citizen Identity Pillar within the Platforms Directorate.

This role will sit in the Staff Identity team providing trusted digital identity verification, administration and management of services (to GPG 45 High) for health and care staff. This is used to authorise and strongly audit access to health and care data systems, including GPG44 High compliant access via smartcards. Staff Identity provides an Advanced Electronic Signature (AES) capability to allow strong digital signing of electronic prescriptions.

Our vision is to harness the power of a modern platform approach to make health and care better. To achieve this, we will make it easier for the health and care ecosystem to collaborate with us, fuelling a dynamic developer community to rapidly bring new capabilities and services to health professionals and patients in a simple, standardised and secure way.
